I met Tupac the year before he died in 1995 at Club 662, it was the after party for the Mike Tyson fight in Las Vegas, the same club he got he was on his way to the night he was shot. He was in a sweaty Versace shirt, with his bodyguard’s hand in the back of his pants… holding onto him in case anything went down. We had a few moments of laughter that I will never forget ❤️
There will never be another person like Tupac Shakur. He wasn’t just a rapper, he was a way of life, a motivator, a friend, an inspiration, a prophet of the streets, a poet, a rider.
This was one of the saddest days in my life 20 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. Years later I came face-to-face with Suge Knight at the radio station and got the courage to ask him why he would take Tupac down the main strip in Vegas (knowing he had just gotten into a fight at the MGM) the night he was shot, instead of the back way, without bodyguards.
Suge had no words, he just looked at me in shock that I would even ask him something like that. Not a single week goes by that I don’t listen to Tupac or almost even daily. Thug life for life❤️
