With sunshine and highs in the 90’s, you have to get out and take advantage of Houston this weekend! Not only is Prairie View A&M University, my alma mater, celebrating homecoming, there will be FREE events to the public every day this weekend.
The 50th annual original greek festival in Montrose is going on through Sunday but it’s FREE to the public from 11am-3pm today [Friday]. Admission will be $5 after 3pm through the rest of the weekend.
Plan to make a drive to Pearland on Saturday because if you do, you can get a free burger and a beer from Killeen’s Burgers. It’s limit 1 per customer and you must be 21+
Celebrate the 5th Ward on its 150th Anniversary Saturday. It’s a party at Lyons Unity Missionary Baptist Church from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. They’ll have free entertainment, food, medical screenings and activities for the kids.
Zomball in Tomball is also Saturday night. It’s a great event for the family that includes a screening of “Hotel Transylvania 2.”
