Tis the season to be a blessing to someone else. This story of students coming together to gift a fellow classmate in need, exemplifies that gesture times 1000! This viral video it touching people all across the country and it really touched mine as well.
In a world of so much hate and judgement, especially among teenagers, it’s refreshing to see kids defying the odds. I applaud the 2 boys who were so selfless in leading a fundraiser to raise money to buy sophomore J.R. Gilbert the shoes after the teen, who frequently squeezes his size 13 feet into size 10 1/2 boots, told a classmate he needed bigger shoes.
“I told him (Villegas), ‘Hey, let’s start a fundraiser,'” Solis recalled. “’Let’s get J.R. some shoes.”
